When it comes to wedding favors, which includes golf wedding favors, you should think solely of your guests. The golf wedding favor should be a symbol of your thanks and appreciation that they came to celebrate your special day. While most couples instincts are to buy golf wedding favors they like, the best wedding favors are the ones that are chosen with the guests in mind. Putting Your Guests FirstWhen shopping for golf wedding favors, it is easy to get caught up in the planning and choose favors that are more for yourself than for your guests. You may think that the picture of you two in Mexico would be great to put on golf balls or the clock with the engravings of your names is just perfect, but do you think your guests will feel the same way? To avoid wasting tons of money on lame gifts, ask yourself these questions before buying golf wedding favors. How many of your guests play golf? If you know that only half of your guests play golf, don't make the mistake of giving everyone a golf wedding favor. Even though the theme of your wedding may be golf, that doesn't mean that everyone loves the game the way you do. In order to make all of your guests happy, give out two different types of wedding favors. Choose a great golf wedding favor for those who enjoy playing and get a neutral favor such as candles or picture frames for those who don't. Another great option is getting candy golf wedding favors. While not all of your guests love golf, they will appreciate receiving a few sweet treats. Is the golf wedding favor useful? Little knickknacks such as clocks, shot glasses or trinket boxes, which look cute at first, normally make some of the worst golf wedding favors. That's because they're not functional. Once your guests leave the reception, they won't know what to do with it. So it will end up being shoved in a drawer, put in a closet or worst of all thrown out. To keep from adding to your guests' clutter, choose a golf wedding favor that can be used. If your guests enjoy playing golf, try golf balls, tees, towels or divet repair tools. If your guests aren't avid golf fans, get golf themed wedding favors such as mugs, pens or bottle openers. Do your guests really want to see your face? Before putting your face on thousands of mugs, you might want to think if your uncle Marty really wants to wake up to that every morning. The answer is probably no. Normally, when couples put their picture, names or wedding date on their golf wedding favors, they do it because they think it is cute. Unfortunately, your guests probably won't agree. If you want to put your face or name on something memorable, do it just for yourself. That way you can put more money into it and it can be something special that just the two of you can share. And trust me your guests will thank you. How to Choose the Right Golf Wedding Favor
