Golf Digest

Golf Digest is published by Condé Nast Publications. The magazine's mission is to be "every golfer's guide to the good life," ("condé nast media kit: Golf Digest"). Golf Digest tries to provide the lifestyle information that golfers need in order to make the most of their game, from improving technique to finding new golf courses to purchasing golf equipment.

What is Golf Digest

Golf Digest is a consumer publication produced each month. It takes a broad look at golf and the lifestyle of golfers in order to provide all the information a golfer would need to get the most enjoyment out of the game, whether the reader is a spectator, beginner or advanced player. Also, Golf Digest aims to inspire golfers and help golfers improve their skills, while reminding them to fully enjoy every aspect of golf ("condé nast media kit: Golf Digest").

Golf Digest Sections

Golf Digest addresses all aspects of golf, beyond just how to swing better and what clubs to buy. Golf Digest writes commentary, reports news from the golfing world and addresses controversial golfing issues. Below is a summary of the content and sections offered by Golf Digest.
  • Lesson Tee: The Lesson Tee section of Golf Digest provides tips and instruction from some of the best golfers and golf instructors. Each month Golf Digest writes about different drills and ways to diagnose your technique problems. You can find advice from Ernie Els, Butch Harmon, David Leadbetter and others in the Lesson Tee section (Golf Digest).
  • Breaking 100-90-80: The Breaking 100-90-80 section of Golf Digest offers even more advice on how to improve your golf technique. It also provides coaching to improve your course strategy. The difference between that section and the Lesson Tee section is that the information is divided into three player profiles, one for those who shoot in the 100s, 90s and 80s. Instruction for golfers in the 100s is more basic and general in nature. The instruction for golfers who score in the 90s is more technical, and the instruction for golfers in the 80s is very focused and technique oriented.
  • Equipment: The Equipment section of Golf Digest helps golfers select the right gear for their games. With equipment reviews and comparisons, golfers can get a better idea of what products will help them best. In addition, there are breakdowns of what professional golfers carry in their bags. Beyond clubs and balls, you can even find out what type of gum or sunscreen your favorite player carries with them on the course.
  • Travel: The Travel section of Golf Digest helps golfers decide where to play. Whether you are planning an exotic golf getaway or looking for a weekend destination, there is information for you. With maps, accommodation recommendations and course descriptions, you won't have a problem finding a new course to play.
  • The Digest: The Digest section of Golf Digest provides the latest golf news and commentary. From pro golfer profiles to rules and etiquette to fashion advice, the Digest section covers almost all topics relating to the game of golf. Whether you're new to the game or a seasoned pro, you will find something there that entertains or informs.
  • Special Issues: Each issue of Golf Digest has a special, featured section. It takes an in-depth look at a specific golfing issue or aspect of the game. Topics such as health and golf, golf and business life, equipment "hot list" and many more are covered ("2006 Editorial Calendar/Special Issues"). The special issues help to enhance the lives of golfers, both on and off the course.
