Callaway Golf

Callaway Golf makes a variety of golf clubs. Before purchasing Callaway Golf equipment, make sure you know all about their newest products. Here is the rundown on the hottest, new Callaway Golf clubs of 2006 that will make you salivate.

Callaway Golf® X460® Driver

The Callaway Golf's X460® Driver is a rebel in many ways. It is the biggest driver you can have while still being allowed to play, and when tested the driver catapults ball speed to a level that almost broke the legal speed limit of the United States Golf Association's Characteristic Time test. The X460® drivers offer increased ball speed, longer drives and greater stability. The driver's face is 10 percent larger than the Big Bertha® Titanium 454 Driver, giving you more consistent trajectory and accuracy. The weight of the club head has been moved lower, giving the club a level of forgiveness you will appreciate when you hit your ball.

Callaway Golf® OptiFit™ Driver System

The Callaway Golf® OptiFit™ Driver System provides golfers with the chance to find their perfect club. The system allows golfers to choose from a variety of club heads and shafts. The club heads and club shafts can be mixed and matched until you find the perfect combination for you.  The system currently has 300 different combinations to choose from and hopes to increase the number of combinations to 700. Currently, the system comes with 13 Big Bertha® Fusion® FT-3™ Driver heads and 23 shafts. The shafts are easy to insert into the club heads and then can quickly be locked into place.
If you're worried there is a performance difference between the combination and finished production clubs, you shouldn't be. "The swing weight and center of gravity location are basically identical to the finished production club with no discernible difference in terms of playability, feel and performance," according to Callaway Golf's Vice President of Innovation and Advanced Design.

Callaway Golf® X Fairway Woods

The Callaway Golf® X Fairway Woods have a balanced sole shape that provides consistent alignment and a square face. The clubs are made of a three-piece stainless steel design.  There are two keels on the sole of the club that come in contact with the turf and keep the club from wobbling at address. The drivers are made as 3-, 4-, 5-, 7- and 9-wood clubs.

Callaway Golf® Big Bertha® Irons

This year's Big Bertha® Irons carry on the tradition of forgiveness and playability.  The irons are offered in a 2-iron through Lob Wedge.  They feature Extreme Notch Weighting that places the weight of the club in the perimeter or the club head, which provides the forgiveness they are known for.

Callaway Golf® Fusion® Wide Sole Irons

The new Callaway Golf Fusion Wide Sole Irons provide stability and confidence. The club heads are 25 percent bigger than Callaway's first Fusion Irons and provide a larger area for contact with the ball.  An ultra-dense alloy is fused to the bottom of the club, which drops the center of gravity further down and enables the club to launch the ball with more ease and speed. The irons also have a TPU Sen Sert in the back cavity, which keeps you from feeling a vibration when you connect with the ball. The club shafts come in either graphite or steel.

Callaway Golf® X-Tour™ Wedges

The Callaway Golf® X-Tour™ Wedges are the result of the combined efforts of golf club craftsmen Roger Cleveland and professional golfer Phil Mickelson.  The wedges come in eight different loft/bounce configurations, making it easy to find the right one for you. Extra large grooves, named the "Mack Daddy" Grooves by Mickelson, maximize spin, trajectory and distance control.

Callaway Golf® White Steel® 2-Ball SRT™ Putter

This new putter features Callaway Golf's Saturn Ring Technology, which places the center of gravity deep and well back from the face of the putter.  That placement of gravity helps to eliminate twisting during the stroke or impact because it has a moment of inertia that is 30 percent higher than Callaway's first 2-Ball putter.  The White Steel® 2-Ball SRT™ Putter has both urethane and stainless steel inserts. The urethane insert provides distance control while the stainless steel insert gives precision and accuracy.  The putter is face balanced and has a full shaft offset.
